Show Your Community Spirit With The CommuniTee

Have you ever heard of a CommuniTee? The CommuniTee is the brainchild of LogoNation, one of the country’s largest screen-printers.

The CommuniTee is LogoNation’s annual community promotion t-shirt. It’s a great tool that can be used to promote businesses, raise funds and generate community pride.

The CommuniTee began as a sketch on a blank t-shirt back in 1998. Jennifer and Denny Watson, owners of the small, startup-company, LogoNation, came up with the idea.

The idea was that the front of the shirt would be designed around the thing that makes a particular town unique or special. For example, Cadiz, Ohio is the birthplace of Hollywood legend, Clark Gable. And the frog capital of the world is Rayne, Louisiana.

The back of the shirt is sponsored by local businesses that get to put their ad, in their choice of colors, on the back. Each business that sponsors a shirt gets their logo placed within a colorful small town scene on each shirt. This design is sketched by nationally recognized, award winning artists.

In addition to the shirts that each business receives, LogoNation donates free shirts back to the community at places like the town hall, the chamber of commerce, the visitor’s center or local schools. These donated shirts are a great way for communities to advertise their businesses and community pride at events like festivals and golf tournaments, or to be given to people who are new to the community.

After studying a proven sales system, Jennifer and Denny traveled to Natchez, MS to try and sell the first CommuniTee. The response was so overwhelming that they quickly had to ditch their 1200 square foot office space for a much larger building.

Today, LogoNation is one of America’s largest screen-printers and is set to print around 500,000 shirts for over 1000 communities this year.
